Paul’s inclusive employment-related accomplishments include:
- Facilitated work duties as a job coach for the Growth Through Opportunity police cadet internship with the Orono Police Department.
- Supported students in many different job settings including the food industry, retail, and an animal farm.
- Worked closely with employers to ensure that clients fulfilled their job duties, were able to perform their duties, and got tasks done in a reasonable amount of time.
- Provided meaningful job experiences for students in Orono Public Schools transition program.
Paul is a licensed school teacher with experience working in many different school settings, both public and private, and in supplemental education with students of diverse backgrounds, needs, and goals. Paul has worked one-on-one and in classrooms with students and clients ages 5 to 65. Paul has a distinct ability to make meaningful connections with all those he works with, allowing him to push them to new levels, both socially and intellectually.
Most recently, Paul has worked as a paraprofessional with elementary and high school students and young adults ages 18-21 in a transition program. He supported students in general education classes to ensure that their educational needs were being met with an alternative lesson plan, modified to each student’s needs. In the transition program, Paul also supported students as a job coach – working closely with students to build a visual resume, developing skills to be successful in the workplace, and modeling and teaching appropriate interactions with peers and supervisors.
Previously, Paul worked for a supplemental education organization where he was both a certified skills trainer and supervisor. As a skills trainer, Paul worked one-on-one with clients on developing and improving cognitive skills. Clients ranged from those excelling and reaching new heights to those struggling or lacking skills and needing a confidence boost. As a supervisor, Paul oversaw a team of 15 employees, giving feedback on client interaction and training to improve each employee’s effectiveness. As part of this position, Paul also administered cognitive skills testing, namely the Woodcock Johnson Tests of Cognitive Abilities, a strictly formatted and leveled test that adapted to a client’s ability level, from preschoolers to adults.
Paul has also served as a long term substitute in several capacities: in an elementary school for a reading intervention program, as a 4th grade classroom teacher, and for a High School transition program.

Paul enjoys spending time with his family and friends and has recently taken up woodworking as a hobby, he likes the challenge of coming up with new projects and creating furniture. In his free time he also enjoys reading and playing video games.
